I went down to Melbourne for a work Christmas party and got talking to the big boss. Turns out he's a cyclist so I got some brownie points there. I suggested instead of flying me down next time he let me ride down without taking my holidays. He sort of agreed although we were both drunk but I'm keen to exploit the opportunity.
How long would I need? I'd try to do it as quick as possible to help convince him in a sober state. However, I want to survive so I would stay off the main drags where possible. I can comfortably do 100 km days on my Mountain Bike and will be alot fitter when the time comes and in possesion of a shiny new hybrid. |

Well it's about 1900km according to my melways, that's along the Hume Highway and the Pacific Highway.
I wouldn't count on any more than 100km a day if you're going fully loaded. So 19 days, plus break days. If your work pays for you to do that, can I have your job?? :-) |
