Default Walkathon for injured cyclist in NJ

BENEFIT WALK-A-THON FOR CURTIS WOLF FAMILY
Saturday, November 13, 2004
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
At the James G. Atkinson Memorial Park, Sewell

As many of our members are aware, on Saturday, September 25, one of our members, Curtis Wolf, was a victim of a severe accident while bicycling that left him with a broken neck and other spinal injuries. Obviously this has caused a severe financial strain on the Wolf family. As a caring Christian community, our Homeschool association would like to respond to this need promptly. We are sponsoring a Benefit Walkathon on Saturday, November 13, 2004, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the James G. Atkinson Memorial Park, Sewell.

We are encouraging our member families and their children to sign up as walkers. The walk is a 1.5-mile track. Each family is asked to secure sponsors to pledge dollar amounts to this cause. The money will be brought to the walk or mailed into the following address:

The park has just told our group that no money or checks may be exchanged at the park. We are asking anyone who wants to walk to send the sponsor sheet and pledge money collected to:
GCCHSA
PO BOX 916
Glassboro, NJ 08028

All money should be sent with one personal check by November 17, 2004.
Thank you,
GCCHSA Board
GCCHSA
P.O. Box 916
Glassboro, NJ 08028

Please bring one check payable to GCCHSA.

Please put the name "Curtis Wolf" or "walkathon" in the memo line. This is a rain or shine event. If rain or other conflicting schedule event prevents you from actually walking, please send in money to the above address and do the walking on your own. In this case, all moneys should be submitted by Wednesday, November 17. Please use the attached sponsor sheet to sign up sponsors. If you need more copies, please feel free to make more copies.

There will be American hoagies available on the day of the walk to help walker families with their needs for lunch. The cost is $4 each. Hoagies must be ordered in advance. Please see the attached response form.

Thanks for your caring support and for joining together with others who care at this important time.

Please forward this message to any friends and church family that you think may be interested in helping with this benefit.

The sponsor sheet and response forms are also available at http://gcchsa.org

Default Re: Walkathon for injured cyclist in NJ

Hi, This is Curtis Wolf. I want to thank everyone who came out to the Walk-a-thon for our family. It was incredible! We are very blessed to have so many friends. Our needs have been met in a wonderful way through the caring giving of so many people. God promised to meet our needs and he sure did! I am doing very well physically as well. The doctors are even amazed! I credit the power of prayer for my rapid recovery. My only lingering problem is some weakness and lack of function in my right hand but it is not going to adversely effect my work so I'm not even worried about it. I am still taking some pain medication but I am slowly weaning myself off of that as well. So, thanks again for everyone who came out to the Walk-a-thon.

With Greatful Hearts,

The Wolf Family.
