We were on the last leg of the Thursday nighter, getting set up for the final sprint when the peloton was buzzed by a motorist driving a larger pickup truck. The mental midget just had to lay on the horn, scaring the fool ouot of us and breaking the concentration. Mind you, there are 4 lanes for motorists on this stretch and traffic was very light. We were on the shoulder, the very wide shoulder and in a single paceline.
As this idiot passed, I knew immediately why he honked. The "John Kerry" bumpersticker said it all. ![]() |
