Default Buzzed by an idiot...

We were on the last leg of the Thursday nighter, getting set up for the final sprint when the peloton was buzzed by a motorist driving a larger pickup truck. The mental midget just had to lay on the horn, scaring the fool ouot of us and breaking the concentration. Mind you, there are 4 lanes for motorists on this stretch and traffic was very light. We were on the shoulder, the very wide shoulder and in a single paceline.

As this idiot passed, I knew immediately why he honked. The "John Kerry" bumpersticker said it all.

Keydates might be on to something there. How many times have you read a headline that is something to the effect "SUV runs into pedestrian" ... "SUV involved in collision" ... "SUV rolls over during rush hour" and so on? Damn things have a mind of their own.
