It seems they're hard as heck to come by right now...my son has kids at school begging him for them daily, some offering to pay him ten bucks each if he can get them one (he wears one so that's why they ask.)
I have been ordering them to give out, but the LAF site is down for maintenance and before they went down for updates/repairs, they said the bracelets were being back ordered, and that was in August! Anyone know what's going on?? Sites I checked: http://www.laf.org http://www.wearyellow.com

I heard about the secondary market on this. People are hawking them on Ebay for $10 and more. Armstrong's foundation gets none of the excess. While this is not illegal, it's a shame that the overwhelming majority of the profit is not going to fight cancer. It's going into the pockets of the profiteers. I guess the company didn't dream that it would have so much demand for those charity bracelets.

And I will do the same, because you can buy min. 10 bracelets! So what will I do with most of them? Of course I will sell them..

I bought 20 of them before the fad took off (10 youth, 10 adult sizes). I gave my husband and kids some, and sold the rest for the price I paid for them. I then planned to use that money to restock and resell more. But I'm not selling them for more than what I paid, I'm trying to raise money for cancer research and get the bracelets out there on people.
I think its SHAMEFUL that anyone would resell them for a lot more and keep the excess. In fact the LAF has a regulation against doing that, not that profiteers give a damn.

Well, Lance is making money off of the bracelets simply through name recognition. Not that he needs anymore recognition, but I'm sure it helps keep him a hot product, along with the books, bicycles and other products that are associated with his name. |

I called the LAF a couple of weeks or so ago, and they told me the site would be back up in a week (which it now is), and they are NOW able to take more backorders, which are what ships in 3 to 4 weeks. They were so backlogged with the previous backorders that they took the site down to prevent more backorders being made until they could handle the prior ones.
Whew! I'm sure glad I don't have their job! One article I read said they had to hire a 2nd factory to make more to handle the extraordinary requests for bracelets. I backordered 50 last week, good thing, I'm down to 2!

Yeah I ordered 10 youth and 10 adult on the 5th of Sep. Still haven't gotten any word on when I will get them. I emailed them 6 days ago and haven't heard anything yet. I ordered a T-Shirt too.

Patience is a virtue. I had an order in for about 3-4 weeks and received mine in due course. They are shipping, it just may take them a bit because of all the demand. Keep in mind that this is a foundation, not a commercial enterprise. Their capacity to deal with customer and order questions is probably a lot less than most of us might expect.

I think after the Tdf and Lance's 6th win, followed by the Olympics when almost every athlete wore one, and then when the movje stars took to wearing them, it was all over, the fad took off. I doubt Lance or the LAF EVER anticipated this kind of response....the kids at my son's school have been daily bugging him for a bracelet (I have about 3 left), and one kid even offered to do my son's homework for a week for him if he'd sell him one bracelet!
