Default 1957 Maclean

I have a 1957 Maclean which I would like to have re-painted, but does anyone know where I can obtain Maclean original frame transfers? There was a guy on the Compuserve forum some years ago who had a whole collection of bike name transfers, but now I have no idea who he is. Thanks

Try Nick at Lloyds at www.lloydcycles.co.uk, they have Maclean transfers but I believe only with the Upper Street address. You have a frame from an old maker, well worth the cost of restoring. The frame I have has the original black finish from the 40's, the usual front and rear chrome fork ends and fork crown, with lining at lugs only, no box lining. Regards, Phil Easton

Hi Phil - many thanks for that info. I'm a Brit but live in Florida. It so happens I'm flying to the UK tomorrow, so your message was very timely. Originally, I had the black finish with gold box lining and chrome fork ends, but after an accident many, many years ago, I had it repainted in red with handpainted Maclean decals. Do you have a photo of how the black look was? Regards.

Hi, I'll take a digital photo and post it. Currently, I just have film type. Phil (Brit in CA)

Hi Phil - I'm a bit tardy in responding, but I now have my Maclean in working order but not re-painted which I want to do soon. Could you please post a photo of your bike so I can see how the decals should be.

Hi, I didn't figure out how to post the photos, but you could take a look at the follow on the web http://genetics.mgh.harvard.edu/~ha...57macleans.html and see if it is what you want. The transfers on my Macleans have a different look. If you send me your email will will send my photos to you direct. Phil
