Default hit by a car today

this morning i was passing some retard in a red pontiac sunfire at an intersection. i passed in front of her, then she just took off & clipped the back of my bike bending the rim. a god dam brand new mountain bike. i hope i can true-up the wheel that now wobbles about a 1/4" side to side. i'm still stunned--how in the hell could she not see me? i made a police report out & they will be on the lookout for this disgrace to the human race. i'm going on a witchhunt myself if they don't find her. it happened to fast for a plate read, but i got the description of the driver & car & the area where she took off to. i guess she works at the same time in the morning & the police & me will be on the lookout for her then. i'm going to buy the loudest horn they make for a bike if one even exists. i'm sick & tired of the mf'ers in these 4 wheeled steel coffins who think we don't belong on the road. the last time i checked, i pay taxes for the use of public roads too. i know this is a long shot but i'm from euclid, ohio. it happened on lakeland blvd. on the northside of the freeway. around 7:45 a.m. it was the third street from babbitt road. she then turned down 248th street which is the first street from babbitt road. the car is a red pontiac sunfire 2 door. the driver is black maybe between 30-50 years of age. if anybody here is from this area sees, or has any info on this vehicle please notify me. i think it would be cool if there was many bicycle forums set up for the sole purpose of posting notices like this & we could band together & get these bastards who violate the law. oh well, enough ranting for now.

Glad you didn't get hurt.
If you're looking for a loud horn try this,
http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_...D=1092843032063

I know a few people who commute and use them, it sounds like the air horns on a truck. Scares the crap out of drivers and is easier on the voice than yelling.

it's freaky that you said that--that's exactly what the retard driving a truck behind the retard who hit me said to me instead of going after her & getting her plate# it would of took her a minute to do as the fuckin moron who hit me just took off around the next street. i guess nobody gives a fuck. but anyway, she just clipped the back of my rear rim bending it. she spun me all around while i'm screaming at the top of my lungs. it just boils my blood that she would just take off. the bike is new & it sucks that it has damage now. i guess the rim can be trued by adjusting the spokes. if the police find her, i'm going to nail her but good the fuckin stupid bitch.

Not in Canada, but I'm sure it's an option in Texas

Glad you're alright. I don't think pursuing a pontiac sunfire in a truck would work so well though, and the driver was right to stop and see if you had life threatening injuries. Pursuing criminals should be left to the police as they are trained to do it at minimum risk to the general public. Hope you don't have such an encounter again.

MIght be an idea to contact the local hospital. I doubt they would have too many retards that can drive cars. Certainly if there are a few, surely not too many would be driving Pontiacs and would fit the description that you have given. I htink that would be your best bet.

Ciao,,,

that is pretty crappy, ive never been hit, but have came real close. honestly i think the reason they drive away is they know some of us would knock them out if they stopped. maybe not a 30-50 year old woman, but the yelling might be uncomfortable for her.

If you are both commuting, you'll likely see her again. Keep your lock handy and bust her windows out when you see her. Do the mirrors the time after that. Repeat.

YEAH--GOOD IDEA! I WENT TO THAT INTERSECTION SEVERAL TIMES AFTER & WAITED--NO SIGH OF HER. I GUESS SHE JUST WAS PASSING THROUGH. I HOPE SHE WORKED NEARBY SO I PROBABLY WOULD SEE HER AGAIN & DO MY THING...

VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are looking for the person who shot a bicyclist early today.

Police and rescue crews were called at 1:15 a.m. after a passerby noticed a man lying in the road near a bicycle at Cape Henry Drive and West Great Neck Road, said police spokesman Don Rimer.

The man, identified as Carson Simpson, 49, of Virginia Beach, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Rimer said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
that sucks. i bet there's more to the story though. it could be a bad drug deal or something. it's hard to believe that someone would just drive up & shoot you for no reason....
