to be quite honest, you never know what kind of weather to expect in ireland. they say that ireland is probably the only country in the world where you can have all four seasons in one day. all i can say is that if you are still planning on coming over here, come prepared for every type of weather, coz like forrest gump once said "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what one your gonna get". i hope this has been in some way helpful to you. ![]() |

Like Alan, i would concur. We're in the west of Ireland and the weather here is predominantly governed by the atlantic weather systems. We do get good weather in Sept/Oct but the weather can/does change quickly depending on the wind hitting Ireland from the atlantic in a south westerly air flow. I suggest you bring some rain gear with you - it won't be cold at that time of the year 8-15 celsius is about average (50-60 Fahrenheit) but chances are that you'll experience some rain while you're here. |

I did a mini tour in eastern Ireland in early october last year. (Dublin-Gorey, Gorey-Tramore, Tramore-Carlow and Carlow Dublin in 5 days). The weather was really pretty nice, I was able to wear my shorts for the first two days and the only rain was mist and drizzle on the road from carlow to Dublin. The temperature hovered around 15 or so.

We are planning to cycle in SW Ireland during the last week in May and first two weeks in June. We (my daughter and I) are vegans. Any suggestions as to how to maintain a vegan diet while there. We will start from Limmerick and go to the Aran Islands and other areas near Galway.

The weather forecast for Ireland for the last week of May is rain and lots of it, I'm afraid. A series of atlantic low pressure systems is forcast coming in from the southwest (Kerry/Cork/Limerick/Tipperary) and spreading throughout the country. The weather is supposed to improve next weekend (27th onwards). As regards vegan food - that's no problem. Restaurants and hotels will cater to your dietary requirements. So there is no hassle on that score. You're probably flying in to Shannon : plenty of good touring routes to explore between Limerick and Galway. Try cycling up around the coast of Clare (travel road from Limerick to Ennis and then take the coast road toward Milton Malbay). Very scenic and very beautiful. If you need more deatils let me know. Enjoy your trip here. |
