Dear Webmaster
Someone has published on the website page http://www.cyclingforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1881 a
photo taken and copyrighted by me, captioned "Texas designated driver."
While I'm sure that you intended no harm in publishing it, the fact remains that this photo was reproduced without my knowledge or permission. Posting a photo on the web does in fact constitute publication for US and international copyright purposes. As you can see on my website http://www.duckboy.com this particular photo is a postcard distributed by my company, and is the cover art on my book The Duckboy Way, or Quack in the Saddle Again. You can confirm this by searching amazon.com under the keyword "duckboy".
I've have to prevent unauthorized web publication of my photos, because they've tended to multiply as others have picked them up, altered them without attribution or copyright notice, and re-posted them. Eventually, people see them in different versions, and decide they must be "in the public domain", fair game for copying and resale, sometimes in
forms that directly compete with our products. I've had my work show up on tee shirts, newspaper ads, magazines, catalogs, posters, and even competing postcards, without my prior knowledge or permission.
Last year I found 3 different companies making and selling T shirts with this photo, all copied from unauthorized postings on the web.
Although I'm sure the purpose in posting this may have been innocuous, for the entertainment visitors to the website, I must request that you remove it from that site. I would appreciate your help in this matter.
Sincerely,
Paul Stanton

Would that be the same DUCKBOY.COM, that is graffitti'd all over road signs and cycle network signs throughout the UK?
