Default serious light - Light&Motion ARC

I blame Hippy? think twas he who posted the HID light shootout link that
had me lusting for the LUME - not sure why that one.

Anyway, since then I've been looking to upgrade my BLTs, good for an
hour, enought to get me home but no charge left to go for a nightcap
spin. Haven't wanted to go Niterider or Stadium and then a mag mentioned
Catalyst Imports being the Australian distributor for L&M. $639 later I
had me an (effective) 50W headlight, 3 hour runtime and lightweight -
720g, but fragile.

It comes with 3 breakaway washers, one broke while I was setting it all
up - since learnt to just remove the whole bar mount, it has a big
convenient knob. It survived the drop to the tiles but 3 weeks later I
dropped it again, no worky. The good thing is I was on my way to that
bikeshop. Off express post the next day(Fri) and now its Monday. Now to
see how long and much my carelessness costs me. Glad I didn't get one
earlier from Phantom(=grey market?).

The light also has a helmet mount that I may never use, a minimal
central spot, guessing a 150 arc, circular reflector, no low beam but I
can pivot it to the side. I was loving it until I broke it, hope I get
to keep loving it. Will need to find a straight dark road to work out
its range.

Default Re: serious light - Light&Motion ARC

Just picked it up from the LBS, so 2 weeks from dropoff to pickup and
just $6 freight. Quicker would have been nice but probably unreasonable.

Wish I'd had it earlier this week then the cops were pulling cars over
into the main drag bikelane, with orange cones down ON the boundary
white line.
