Has spring finally arrived everywhere, and is everyone getting out? Of
course, in places like florida or someplace where it's warm all year, what the diff? Here in Montreal we've gone from a freezing april to three days of temps in the mid-70s. Some people have told me they've only been able to get out for one or two rides! Myself included, due to a delayed season. However, we've also had gale-force winds. On friday it was about 25C (74f) but winds gusting up to 80k, so getting out on the road wasn't much of an option.Yesterday it started out looking iffy but ended up nice and sunny, but quite humid, and at this time of year you're not used to it. I love warm humid weather but 50k had me cooked! Plus it was only about my fourth ride of the year May usually means the start of the nice weather but it can be iffy, with plenty of rain and often very windy. THe first long weekend is later this month, and hopefully it'll be a nice one. Last year I went for rides all three days! Today it's raining, and it's supposed to cool off to normal temps, which is fine with me, it's too warm at nights. But spring is here at last! |

We just had a streak of the best kind of weather. It rained last night, though, and today looks like a mixed bag of sun/clouds/showers. But I like warm, spring showers. They're nothing to cower from, bundled in a bunch of rain gear. The only nice days have been when I've been working. Thursday being the last example. Oh, I did ride a little after and my commute of course but this is my long weekend of and it's continuous rain! *waaa!* -- 'An environmentally concerned ex-CIA agent is willing to blow things up in Alaska to save Mother Earth.' -blurb for a Steven Seagal movie |

Here in north Texas, there's not a cloud in the sky after yesterday's storm blew through on its way east. Temperature is about 75 F with almost no wind. It's just a gorgeous day with all the wildflowers sprinkling the roadsides with reds, yellows, and blues, and the trees and grass wearing a sparkling coat of green. All our days should be like this! Beautiful in Denver today - about 65F (supposed to be 72, but never made it).
A bit chilly yesterday, but got a nice ride in both days. Went out with the wife today for a purely "recreational" ride. Was fun. http://members.aol.com/foxcondorsrvtns (Colorado rental condo) http://members.aol.com/dnvrfox (Family Web Page) |

In replying to a message, you type the answer at the top and include the
prior message below. I dislike reply messages without the prior message, I have a co-worker who does this, and It can be confusing without the context. When you read the individual messages, it makes sense and that is why I do it. When you are trying to comprehend the entire conversation by reading just the latest message, it takes a bit of work to read the parts in order. "Denver C. Just got back from the hardest 45-mile (road) ride I've ever done.
East San Diego County (Descanso to Kitchen Creek to Sunrise Highway and back). Mid 90's and dry. I'm a lobster. Bill "if you can't stand the heat, stay out of Kitchen Creek?" S. |
