I just wanted to tell everybody about what we're doing here in
Missoula, Montana to encourage local bicycle and pedestrian participation. Two websites that have made a hit here are the sites for Bike Walk Bus Week Missoula, http://www.bikewalkbusmissoula.org and the Way to Go! Club, http://www.waytogoclub.com Bike Walk Bus Missoula is prepared to deliver a vast schedule to the thousands of potential viewers. Events from the Festival of Cycles, to the Rails to Trails Conservancy presentation will entertain and get people thinking more about alternative transportation options. The Way to Go! Club has been mentioned here before, but that was two years ago, and a lot fewer members. Now the program has 2,571 members that have logged 1,873,042 miles in two years. It is a fun and smart way to encourage a local community to participate. I'm sure these programs could be shared and built upon to work almost anywhere.
