Default Ahead stems with threaded headset

Hi, I am planning on upgrading forks eventually but it's not in the cards
($$$) right now for the fork that I want. Until then I want to start
accumulating the other accessories. I recall seeing an adaptor for a
threaded fork to use an ahead style stem. I can't seem to be able to find
one online and the LBS doesn't have one. Anyone know where I can get one,
online or otherwise. TIA

What is an "Ahead style" stem? Performance Bike and Nashbar both carry
adapters which let you use a threaded fork with stems designed for
threadless. Is that what you mean? I've got one on my bike and it
works fine; adds a few ounces of weight compared to a true threadless
fork, but adds a lot of versatility.

Quill adapter and many makers of these things. Tell yer LBS to stop being LAZY
and get ya one. They are available from numerous suppliers...

I've been using one on an older winter training bike for a few years know with no problems. This is what I'm using:
