8-speed campy miracle!

wow...

i'm running chorus 8spd ergo (vintage '94ish) and i just replaced the sachs
chain (~2k miles) with a new sram pc-68. cassette and chainrings remained
as-is (also ~2k miles), as wear was minimal.

i took the old chain off, measured the new one against it, installed the new
one, and went for a ride. didn't adjust a thing (though i took a
chaintool!)...and everything was *beautiful*. i can't believe how much
improved the shifting is.

highly recommended (on campy 8spd),

No miracle.we use PC-48s for 8s systems all the time, great chains.

Do you have a (non campy) recommendation for Campy 10s?

I have a recommendation. I use KMC 9200Z chains with the quick link that
came with it. It works beautifully without any sounds. The KMC 9000
chain would work also but is less flashy.

Its my understanding that KMC chains come with a 1 time use "master
link" similar to sram's powerlink or wipperman's connex link. So, if
you want to remove your chain for cleaning or other reasons, you have
to buy another KMC removable link. Its my understanding that the KMC
master links are relatively cheap - $1.50 each, still, its supposedly
good for only a 1 time use. Is this true?

Thanks Peter.

How does the nickel Wipperman compare to the Campy Record 10? The
Connex 1008 is more expensive than the Campy Record 10 here (UK),
although it does come with the chain link. The Connex 1009 is
significantly cheaper.
