I have an older set of Shimano SPD pedals on my road bike. Lost the owner's
"manual" long ago, and was wondering what the set screws on the sides adjust (just discovered them a couple of weeks ago). I figured out the ones on the rear adjust release tension. Do the outer screws allow for more or less float? Normally I would experiment myself, but for the last three weeks I've had to settle for lurking rec.bicycles.* instead of riding because of sciatica.
