Hi All,
I'm thinking about putting FSA cranks on a bike with Campag Record 10 speed. I am led to believe that I must buy FSA's bottom brackets to go with them. They quote ISIS or Octalink BBs, and the cranks must match. Which ones are better/more appropriate, ISIS or Octa? Thanks Bow |

I have the ISIS, very stiff. After 14 mos had to replace bb, bearing went
bad. I think given the diameter of the ISIS spindle, the bearings must be small and can't take the load. While the rings say 10 speed. I have 9 speed rings that work just fine with 10 speed, so perhaps the Octalink is a better way to go. I did see on their site at one time, they made a Campy 102 BB compatible, yet I've never seen it offered for sale. I think ISIS is a better design as well. See Jobst FAQ about crank lash and octalink. I'm using '04 Record with am FSA crankset, and although I opted for the FSA Ultimax Carbon BB, I don't think it was necessary. -- |
