I want to use a Campagnolo Nucleon wheel on a bike with a Shimano Sora 8-sp. rear derailleur. I need help to choose a 8-sp. cassette that will fit and shift smooth, if there is any available. |

There are several cassettes available that will transfer over from Campag to Shimano or in reverse.
Miche is one, there is another Italian brand Marchietto ( or similar cant quite remember?) |

This is only the case for 10 speed that you need to buy special(expensive) casettes. For 8 or 9 speed the regular casettes will be very close between Shimano and Campa, you just might have to change some of the rings between the cogs(for 9 speed for example campa is 2mm wider, you won't notice or can resolve it when you have small problems by substituting 3 or 4 rings)

Mmmmn Miche actually do a full range for Shimano and Campag, as well as their own:
Shimano 7-8 & 9sp Campag 8,9,10sp Miche 8 & 9 Sure you can interchange the spacers but then you have to make sure the width of these are the right thickness as there is a variation between the cassette sprockets them selves as well as 'ramping', you would have to experiment. There also is another Italian maker really nice stuff called Tiso who do 8-9 speed in both Shimano & Campag Miche cassettes are invarably cheaper than the genuine brands and good quality |
