Default names of mountains

How do they name the mountains. What makes them a col or a cote or what makes it a de or a du?

Last edited by brwbier : 15-07.-2004 at 12:54 PM. Reason: spelling

That is a awesome question. You should send that in as a question for AOL's pre-race show, or right to the OLN tv team. Maybe they will answer it on air!

de/du is grammar. Kind of like a/an. It means "of," "some," among other things (dependent on context). Don't know why mountains are called col/cote though.
