I just read that,wow that sucks.He was it back then. Not quite the same thing but i was just telling someone about the mile in san jose and he lived there and had'nt heard of it.Thats a great race.

Some of you may be old enough to remember the first Australian GP won by Wayne Gardner. After final practice, Barry (who was a commentator) 'borrowed' Wayne's bike, and did a lap of Philip Island fast enough to qualify him on the second row of the grid.
This was despite his legs being held together by pins, blue tac and luck... |
