Friday, while I was riding home from work I came to a stop
behind a car at a red light The car had a large box in the trunk and it's hazard lights were flashing. We took off when the light turned green. The driver of the car was obviously very worried about dumping the payload on the road. So at about 21 or 22mph his speed no longer increased. I had been doing 27 - 30mph up to that point. I decided he was going too slow for me and I would pass him. So I looked behind me and the road was clear. I pulled out and got around the car. I pulled back over to the right and kept going. I pulled away from the car and finished my ride. I only had to go about one more mile, but that was the first time I can remember passing a car on the left . Get off the road? No, not really. |

Did you ring your bell, or say 'Bike up' as you rode by his window? ;-D -B |

Wow.. I wish I could ride at 30mph. I feel like I'm flying
when I push 30km/h on the way to school (only 10KM) away. And yes, passing vehicles is great. I've had the opportunity to do it a few times with a huge wind It was a taxi andthe person looks over and sees me passing them on the left lane.. their minds were blown. The most recent fun moment was when I was at a friends and decided to ride and get a pizza. I rode home on a side street no hands while I opened the pizza box, got out a slice and started eating it. A car went by the opposite way and the people in it had their minds blown.
