No, not as in Franco-American meatballs. LANCE gives up the
maillot jaune to the French champion and a breakaway with riders on three French teams gains time. Sandy Casar might yet take yellow and hang on for a while. Where's the conspiracy? Guess whose team just bought cheap insurance against getting woken up at 3 am by a French police raid. Bruyneel has outsmarted Jan, Tyler and Lafferty once again. |

Allowing the host to have a few (very few) crumbs is just courtesy. Nothing really to be gained IMO. ASO *might* appreciate it but they don't have any influence over the investigation unless they won't to hurt someone. I really doubt they can make anyone's life any easier though. |

Exactly right, Postal wasn't about to let just anyone get
away in a break yesterday and take the yellow jersey. Another calculated move by Bruyneel and probably Lance himself. Who better than the up-and-coming, personable, young star of French cycling? Looks like a winning move for organizers, sponsers, French TV and Postal who score brownie points for their "gesture" towards the home-team. Bruyneel cunningly worked to get the weather to cooperate in order to ensure success but, alas, some other manager with better connections (devious bastard) tried to prevent Postal's masterful plan. Yet, in the end, even inclement conditions could not derail such wily design. Later, Lance innocently suggested: "We'll do better next time. We'll get it completely right and deliver, even if only for the sake of better TV". |
