Default Helmet Research thread a record?

Did anyone have the time to read all that? sheeeezzzzz! The
Bill Z, Just zis Guy, you know? and Kunich thread. Is this
helmet research thread at 599 a new record or in second or
third place for the longest. Of course it spans several
groups. I don't have time to read all that but it looks like
Kunich is determined to have the last word.

I don't believe it has the breadth of participation. In
spite of the volume there is hardly anybody posting.

For example, I could write a script that posted random text
at intervals (similar to what is happening in the helmet
thread) and it would not count for a record. It was still a
good troll though.

I believe the Peace Themed Jerseys thread is the
current record holder. Two Guns has my vote for the
most elegant troll.

Thread records are cool, but RBR's greatest moment of
international glory was when Andrew Albright got
thousands of votes for Time's person of the year.
Although the RBR race kit was pretty cool too. Ken's
"Faces" gets podium as well.

Of course, because it irritates that nit Zuamen so much. And
as a bonus, people like you who don't know how to use the
newsreader are irritated as well.

Well enough to read what I want. I don't spend all my
time in here like some. Too many other fun things in life
to be doing.

Well, all you have to do is put the thread on ignore and you
don't even have to know it's there.

The thread doesn't bother me but I didn't want to take the
time to even speed read through parts of it. That's why I
asked and Bob said it had very little substance. I don't
ignore any threads completely. I always like to dabble a
little to see if there is anything interesting in it. At
this point I'm thinking you guys just want to set a record.
But a better record would be for one newsgroup only, instead
of spanning across several, but there are records for both.
Whatever winds your clock.

Here's the thing with helmet threads - there isn't much to
say about them and the important stuff goes by in about a
dozen postings. It is at that point where Zaumen and/or J.
Poulos begin making asses out of themselves and the rest of
us just keep pointing it out to them until they get tired of
it. Zaumen is unusual in that no matter how many times he
tells us that he hasn't read the papers in question, he then
turns around and writes, "How do YOU know what I read?"
