Default Best TDF Site

I realize there are many sites with Tour de France coverage.
Could we get some opinions as to possibly the best three or
four sites in peoples opinions?

Thanks in advance... Bob

How can you top the Official TdF site?

2nd and 3rd place podium go to www.cyclingnews.com/ and
www.dailypeloton.com/tdfmain.asp

w/ notable mentions: www.velonews.com/tour2004/
www.eurosport.co.uk/

Depends what type of "coverage" you want. For live audio
coverage of the last two hours or so of each stage, OLN is
my favorite.

There's also live streaming video coverage from Danish TV.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately I'm still
working with my archaic dial-up connection. Not much
streaming for this boy.

If you are stuck at work and just want to sneak an
occasional peak at a running commentary, the OLN site or
velonews.com are pretty good choices. Bicycling magazine
also had a site. All of these give you a few lines of text
every couple of minutes or so in a browser window you can
keep in the background.

Each year each site has been a little bit different, which
makes sense because the technology is evolving. This makes
it hard to predict which will be the best site in 2004 from
2003 and earlier performance.

Where can I learn more about the ins-&-outs of the strategy,
plus the subtleties and how to be a "better"
observer/supporter? --M. Powell

Cyclingnews.com does a live text coverage. It gets updated
every minute or so when things are hot and heavy. I like it.
