I've recently bought a Gemini Mt Force and now decided to get another MTB for my husband as a present. My budget is no more than $350 and am looking for a dual suspension bike. He'll be using it on tracks and road, but he's not a dedicated bike rider as we riding in weekends. I was considering BW3000 but was told that the bike isn't a good one for my husband. Can anyone please help me? I also considering a child carrier for his bike but wondering is it worth it as our son is already 17kg. I'd like our son to ride with us on roads as well but he is under 4.

Really not too sure what sort of dual suspension bike you could get for $350 as the quality stuff doesnt come into the dual suspension range until a bit higher in the price range, especially considering that you may wish to ride off road sometimes. By the way what brand is the BW3000 that u mention? My suggestion would be to look at getting a hardtail for your husband in a similar price range as this will have better quality components and most likely last a bit longer and probably handle the off road stuff just as well. In regards to the child seat there is aonther option of a "tandem trailer" which i believe would be ideal for your situation. It is basically a kids bike (with no front wheel) that is designed to be attached to the rear of a larger adults bike so that the children can ride along with the parents if they want to. Im not sure how u would go attaching a child seat to a dual suspension bike anyway. Good luck. |

I see you are in NSW.
At this time of year many importers have specials. Giant have many bikes reduced at the moment, check the yellow pages for a local Giant dealer and barter hard. You may just get a bike in your price range. cheers George |
