NOTE!

I've just spoken to a lady at Race Office and she has assured me that they have taken action in light of the crash that took place on Sunday along the 94.7 route.
The section of road that contains the "groove" will be covered with conveyor belts, making it safe for cyclists.

Goat tells me that the whole bunch almost went down there, and one of the lady cyclists had a pretty bad cut to the head. They had to cart her away in an ambulance.

Rode past the offending grid yesterday morning. It looks very nasty.

Is that the Club100 bunch you're referring to?

Give me the details. My training partner and I are also thinking of doing the route.

Hmm, this is looking large, what speed you guys thinking of doing this at? if its slow enough (snails fly past me on downhills currently) I wouldn't mind joining as well.

p.s. did I mention these snails were in the basket of some little old frenchman cycling home to his supper? so I'm not that slow

Also drove past that groove thing yesterday - nasty piece of work! Does anyone know of similar things?

As far as the bunch goes, there will probably be more than one ride captain that heads up differt bunches at different speeds - anyway, I hope thats the case otherwise I'll probably end up by myself ;D
Some very nasty potholes in the section of Beyers Naude by the roadworks opposite the squatter camp. Maybe they'll fix them before the Day. ???

Hiya all,

My aim for Sunday is to finish and have a lekker time. My training has only been base training. I plan on stopping at the Bar-one waterpoint and totally pigging out on Bar Ones, stopping and getting a rub down from the physio's. Chatting to the spectators... All the things I've missed in the last three years 'cause i been head down, pedalling like crazy.

Good luck to everyone, keep an eye out for me, I'll be riding a new Trek 4300 MTB, wearing a red and grey shirt and cheering everyone that passes me on.

Remember the sunscreen!
