Default Spare parts for 1997 GT LTS-1

Hey, anybody know where to get spare parts for my LTS? Searched and searched, but can't find much. Looking for bushings, bolts, and such. Any help would be appreciated. I like the bike, it just needs a new fork. Judy's suck.

Have you tried GT yet?

I've also heard that there was a company that made a replacement bushing kit for the LTS

I'm sort of in the same situation cause i just bought a secondhand frame to build up and i want to get some spares, I'll ask around where i live and if i find anything i'll let you know

And if you find anything let me know!

Hi there,

i also have an LTS and have had problems with the Horst joint and derailleur hanger. I got spares from :

www.betd.co.uk

They make excellent spares and provide a fantastic service - they sent a derailleur hanger to me here in Egypt which customs sent back and they re-sent it to a mate who was coming over at no extra charge!

Good luck.

LTS: great frame but you can't ever replace anything!!!! i have one too and i love the frame but i can't find parts for my life. You used to be able to order bushing kits from GT, but when Pacific Cycles bought them, they uhh... misplaced (LoL) a lot of the remaining LTS stock inventory in the trip from Colorado to Cali. you can try calling Pacific Cycles for support, but i'm pretty sure they have nothing for us at this point. i haven't had any luck anyway.

if the bolt you are referring to is in the rear linkage (joins suspension to frame at two pivot points), the easiest thing to do is get the dimensions of the original bolts and have a machine shop turn some new ones for you. i used aluminum. be careful on the rear, you'll need a small socket for your break line!

don't know if any of this actually helps you. hope you find some parts!

if you find out where to get rear suspension replacement parts please shoot me an email! mkling@elizacorp.com.

thanks!

I'm looking too! 1996 LTS-1 -- missing bolt from chainstay pivot point. If anybody has extras, I'll pay well! Thanks! npolt@1024greenstreet.com

I believe i found a manufacturer that makes thermoplastic bushings that will fit your LTS. I am in process of sending them my old bushings so that they can determine if they have the correct size. Will keep yopu posted. The name of the company is W.M. Berg Inc. www.wmberg.com

Hey I have a GT LTS 5000 it uses same suspension design and everything as GT LTS-1 and the bushings have worn, but I have a slightly used frame of the same bike which is damaged but the bushings are fine. Is there anyway I can use the bushings off the frame to put them on the bike?

Just about gave up looking for bushings and travel clips for my LTS. Have not come to unload the big cake for the bearing upgrade due to exchange rate being so lopsided. W hen i come aross a Lbs that had 2 of the bushing kits and 4 of the travel clips. Boy, was I excited and only for $25 US. I bought both and have just replaced wornout bushings and clips on 1 bike and am debating wheather to build up 2nd bike or to save bushings as spares. So keep up the search, there are still some out there, I have been looking for over 6 months. By the way, except for the old suspention, the old LTS feels rides like a new bike again. YAHOO!!!!!

I think your talking about the Fox RP3, but whatever. Is this shock going to fit an LTS with the trussion and how is that done. I'm looking to replace my rock shox super deluxe. I would love to get a fox shock on the back.

Are we talking about the same frame? Mine is a 96 frame, with the titanium linkage. Any shock between 120 and 140mm should fit. You aslo have the Stratos Shock 135mm.

I have a problem as well with finding a part for my gt lts-1 bike as well. Its a year 2000 model. I need to know the name of this screw/bolt/bracket i dont know what to call it. It is goes through directly above the rear shock. It seems to have come loose and i was told i need to have it replaced. When you push down on the back of the bike it seems to shift down before the shock does, and i was told it will go eventually. ANY IDEAS??? IM DESPERATE?

Hi all,

I own 2 GT LTS 1000 frames , the most recent one is being built from a new frame i bought 4 months ago ( yes brand spanking new!) it is a GT TEAM frame with disc break mount integeral to the frame , also has extra machining to the underside of the linkage plate and has a longer travel shock mounted on it too.

i have the full shop repair manual for all post 98 frames and have done extensive research into replaceing the rear shock with something a be more modern and more robust.

From my reasearch i have found several shock manufacturers that do aftermarket replacement shocks, these are RISSE , STRATOS , and X-FUSION

Also it is possible with some outside assistance from a machine shop to alter the shocks that is fitted to the CANNONDALE JEYKLL to fit the GT LTS 1998 onwards, i intend to try this as soon as i find a shock to try out.

I also had my original LTS fitted with the BETD bearing kit and it turned my bike into a completely new bike.

When i have the new LTS fully built I will be adding pics to another forum MTBR.com the Link to my pics of original LTS + new LTS TEAM build is below

http://gallery.mtbr.com/showgallery...0/ppuser/260707

also if anyone needs images or maunals etc. i will do my best to help.

Dean.

Dean.........Well done.......I just joined this forum after searching for LTS Bushing kits..........I have an 98 LTS3000 & its in very good shape......I just about ordered the bushing kit from BETD but due to the exchange rate it was going to cost me some $330..00 U.S.D.....Might as well buy a new frame for that kind of upgrade....I would like to keep my bike but I may be forced out of it some day soon......I want to rebuild my rear susp but dont know where to turn.......I checked out your pics & very impressed w/ your upgrades......As I said "Well Done"......Looks as well as any new high performance bike Ive seen...........Cheers to you..............Joe So.California
