I knew Graeme Brown was good.  Just how good is he.  First outing it the big time and only recently recruited into the Panaria outfit.   8)  8)

Did anyone watch Stage 5 when the guys climbed up the brutal Colletto del Moro? I'm almost sure some of the back markers walked, as it seemed that it were easier for some to walk than ride a bike up there? That is one wicked son of a 'b' climb!

well, well - maybe cadel evans will rise to stardom earlier than thought!  who would have thought that all 3 hot favourites, garzelli, simoni and casagrande would be out of the giro before passo pordoi?  the aussie's chances of ending on the podium seems to be increasing every day.  with evans now in pink and only 4 stages left, mapei must be going out to defend his position.  this will make for some very exciting racing and team tacticts in the final week!

viva mapei quick step viva!

The Giro has had its problems this year, but there has been some great racing Cadel Evans has impressed although I think Tyler Hamilton will wrap up the overall in the final time trial. It should be a great climax, lets hope the Tour de France is as close!

When the big guns went out I though it would be a boring Giro....how surprised (and impressed) was I after yesterday's stage? 6 riders within a minute of each other on GC after the hardest mountain stage? When last did we see that?

Certainly more exciting than the 'war of attrition' style Tour de France.

My money is on Evans - if he puts enough time into Hamilton today. Hamilton is a better TT rider but looked a bit wobbly on the climbs yesterday and the his team pull him back after he was dropped. Having said that there are 4 others with great chances - long live wide open racing!

Viva the underdogs viva!
