Carlton track frames are as good today as they were first made. Carlton were bought up by Raleigh in the UK and were made with custom Raleighs in their special frame shop... unfortunately Raleigh was then bought by some bean counters in the States and a lot of the brands disappeared. Raleigh have recently been saved but there specialist departments have now gone.

When you buy a new frame go for steel Deda or similar not aluminium ,paint job is superficial. Aluminium doesnt have the enrgy that steel gives.

Pearl white Colubus Zonal frame with Columbus Muscle forks. Ideal track bike would be a BT frame with Campag disc

I have to say though, that i am totally rapped with the result. I am currently in the process of organising a secong hand pair of speicalized tri spokes for my racing wheels. i cant wait.

I have a Hillbrick Cro mo frame, but it's more of an introductory level bike.
I've upgrade when I get serious.

I'll take a Nagasawa. That kind of craftsmanship is becoming scarce.

I ride a KYPO (Australian frame builder) made from Columbus Max.
I can't stress enough the need for custom building of frames in order to achieve the correct biomechanical position for the individual rider. Like Drewjc I also use Australian made cranks, but mine are only 160mm (I have really short thighs). With C Record Seat Pillar, Shamahls, Andre Dugast Silk Latex Tubular Tires, Cinelli Steel Stem, Cinelli Steel Sprint Bars, Shimano 105 Track Pedals and Toshi Double Straps. To be perfectly honest this is my Dream Bike, and at my age I don't need to go changing anyway.

Pinarello.

It's an old lugged steel Oria tubing frame.

i have a well made tarck biek i want tell u teh brand because i haev seen a lot of good frames come from this aussy builder. but i go teh fram second hand. i needed a 54cm square and it is a 55cm x 51cm so not the best size for me ether. but it has no clearence in theb/b 170mm cranks are about all i can run used a pair of 172.5mm in a pursuite and they were fine during the pursuite but when i finshed and went up the tarck i nocked em. but yer it has all campagnolo record gearing on it. but the thing is it's heavy weight dose n't matte on the tarck that much but i has no strength. i haev one state medals on it and a most of teh XMAS wheelsU/17 but yer it's like 11kg. my road bike is 5kg and it has gears and all that. and so weak into a spint. bye the way it's a crom moly frame i think. with italian b/b. I think i'll gp for a FUJI mainly based on price ad qualty and u can bye em off teh rack. next but for this season my coach has a real good bike for me to ride. any oen kow what teh BT super bikes weight with anormal wheel set like with spokes and rims.
