Whey is a source of extremely efficient protein.

Common foods that have a high glycemic index include:

anything sugary or with corn syrup
bagels
rice
potatoes
pizza
bread
honey and syrups
crackers
raisins
non-diet sodas

Zaskar: Ted's short list is certainly good. You can find more complete info online if you search, since this topic is of major concern to diabetics. Some have extensive listings of foods.
