The gap has ballooned to almost 8 min at the base of Tourmalet.

The break has just gone through the feedzone. Looks like Cancellara will be drinking soda (looked like Coke) from a can.

He can't hang with the big guys in the TT but they can't allow him to gain much more time. There is a lot of race to go.
I think we will see a lot of riders hurting today and maybe some eliminations due to time.

Exactly. They will have to begin to be careful if he gets another minute or two on a day like today. Then again, I think we have to wait and see what happens to people like Evans and Valverde, given that both appear to be vulnerable today (one for yesterday's crash, the other because he does not have good legs).

I think we shall see Valverde lose some serious time today.

Ricco's my bet for today.

Don't think that was Ricco. The official site lists the two riders as Jufre and a colleague.

Voekler pops off the front to get his minute on camera for the day.

Actually, he really has very little to lose... either he gets another great stage win, a stage win with a time gap that turns him into a GC contender, or things fall apart.

Even if things were to fall apart, he would still be taking home two stage wins...

True, there were two Saunier Duval boys in the original break this morning.

Plus at this rate he will finish higher than Cunego.

Keep in mind that Cunego has really improved his TT skills... of course, this is all relative, but he is a motorcycle in TTs compared to Riccò...

Liggett just compared a riders cadence to Lance's. Where did this myth that Lance was the first person to ride up climbs with a high cadence start?

I think it is in Ligget and Sherwin's contract. They cannot let more than five minutes go by without mentioning Armstrong. Usually the duty falls to Sherwin, though.

I didn't see it, but the commentators just said that De La Fuente is slowly slipping to the rear of the peloton suggesting that this might be his last day in the polka dots jersey.
