Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I actually have to go to my summer house to watch it - I do not have a TV in my home in Rome to save the kids from that addiction. Makes more riding time also - no worries about missing the TdF or Giro stage - I just go out and ride instead.

Here, it's live in the morning...and there are far less commercials, actually. It's the prime time evening "expanded" coverage...expanded to fit commercials, that's so awful. I wouldn't mind so much but it's the SAME commercials, over and over and over again. I don't care how many times they tell me that SAAB was born from jets...I'm not buying one!

it's only day two and those "take back the tour" and Bacardi commercials are already driving me mad...

Good lord. There are more commercials in the night coverage? Is it like a one to one ratio of race coverage versus ads?

Especially the implication that they have caught all the dopers... and everyone's clean now.

It's true dude, aren't you paying attention. They got all those nasty baddies and only the pure good guy riders get to race.

This is generally true if you watch a fair amount of TV - the same commercials repeat after a while (ok, not as bad as what you mentioned above). Anyway, the "mute" button on the remote is an excellent feature.

What about the footage in reverse? Where they show the yellow jersey coming OFF Floyd Landis...is that supposed to mean something??

Actually, they show Zabel stepping off the podium (done in reverse) Floyd having the jersey taken off (done in reversea) and then Vino backing up the ramp (done in reverse), then something about a "new stage." I think that they are making a point that the Tour gets a "do over." As far as the "Take Back the Tour" motiff, they do not seem to be emphasizing it. I think maybe they got some negative feedback about it. I know I wrote them an email filled with sentiments about what stupid pricks they were with the sentence about "false allegations." My biggest problem is the Bruyneel thing. Screw them.

It is interesting that they still hire Frankie to do interviews. I would have thought he would be black balled because he came clean, and Betsy keeps pushing for the truth about Lance to be widely published. Betsy rules!

It is a rare occasion that I watch something without at least a 15 minute delay so that I can cut out commercials with the dvr. Thank you to whomever invented that technology.

Do you think they waited to edit in the Landis shot 'til the CAS decision came down?
