Cancellara then daylight, maybe then evans and valverde, I to think feillu is in with a chance of holding yellow. Probably a good chance of some relative unknowner or someone unexpected being in the top 5 as well. |

Is the TT being run under RTTC rules on the A1 at 6am? It should be. When it comes to being 'drag strip testers' the pommies, in their black alpaca jackets or 80's retro flouro skinsuits are second to none. My picks for the TT, but if its a 'float' day put Engers up to second.
1. Sean Yates 2. Chris Boardman 3. Graeme O'Gree 4. Dave Lloyd 5. Ray Booty 6. Ian Cammish 7. Gethin Butler 8. Alf Engers 9. Stuart Dangerfield 10. Kevin Dawson

Graeme O'Gree's got a big darts match this Wednesday night at the pub after work... so he probably will hold something in reserve. And he's riding a Malvern Star commuter which won't help either.

Interesting comment:
“A bastard of a time trial,” is how Magnus Backstedt began to describe the race today. “It’s a headwind and hilly on the way out and mainly climbing to about 10km from the finish. After that it’s basically just long, dragging descents with a full on tailwind. Gear selection is a major, major issue today. I had a 54x11 and it was nowhere near enough on the way back! “If I had the chance to do it again, I’d have a 50 on the inside and a 57 on the outside. We’re talking about 82 or 83km/h on the way back to the finish! It’s long descents and, with the wind, you’re just flying. If you don’t have the right gear to push, then you’re just spinning like mad.” |

Valverde, Cancellara, Bruseghin (Lampre), Fothen (Gerolsteiner), Schumacher
(Gerolsteiner) and I would have selected Grabsch of Milram if it had been Bart and not Ralf riding the ITT.

Well, that throws off most of the predictions in this thread; only CF and Lim mentioned Schumacher at all... |
