Thanks! Looks like this may not be a sprinters stage again. Whats with the tour this year! Kirchen is gunning for a stage win. He's in good form. It could be him tonight then! Either way, a team Columbia rider wins today. Kirchen or Cavendish! My tips Cavendish Freire Kirchen |

Haha! Well, 2 of us finished in the top 3 yesterday and Cav rejoined the main group so if the hill wasn't that bad, I reckon it would have been Cav, Kirchen and Ciolek as the top 3. It's tempting actually to do it. Stuff it. I change it to. Cavendish Kirchen Ciolek Like I say, a Columbia rider wins it today. Either Cavendish in the sprint with Ciolek close behind or Kirchen attacking if it gets too tough for the sprinters. Kirchen will be riding Valverde's wheel right up to the finish and if he sees the sprinters struggling, he attacks! |

Pan flat stage today - but again the parcours can be deceptive as the route is rolling and is therefore not as easy as it may look.
Have to go with the sprinters : McEwen, Cav, Hushovd likely winners

Cranky, placing in the top ten, is different to winning. Winning you gotta hit the wind. Winning usually requires hitting the wind for more than 100 metres. That requires power. Every GT bunch kicks, you will find guys like Gilbert, Ballan, Flecha, Kirchen, Bagstedt, Burghardt, hit the top 10. They will never win. Just like Ogrady, Ogrady will never win a GT bunch sprint, but if Ogrady and Cav both receive no team help, Ogrady will beat Cav 9 times out of 10 in a bunch kick. So, winning is different from finishing in the top 10. |

For instance... in my limited experience... I see McEwen as an all or nothing man. If he has good positioning he should win. If he doesn't have good positioning.... he doesn't put in the effort and finishes 10th-15th. Even though the points count for the green jersey. He seems more interested in stage wins than worrying about coming fourth or fifth.
