Back in 1980, in Naples, the 130lbers with all their teeth and no hair on their chest, but on their under arms and legs, could be had for $20 or $25. My friends and I would go up into the gut (old section of town) and drink at either Mama Rosa's or Mama Seta's, the two well known brothels near the water front. They sold cold Peroni (the real stuff, not the "export quality" beer) for about $.50 a bottle. Never did sample the girls, although there was this little blond that I was considering when a buddy of mine told me that she had given him a little more than he had bargained for. Fortunately it was curable with a shot of penicillin, as this was before the age of antibiotic resistant diseases.

Rumor had it that there was an area down near the waterfront where you could get transvestites for half the price of a real woman, but I never investigated to see if that was true.

I had a friend in the Air Force that while on a stint in the Phillippines got two rather young hookers, drunk and a room for the night for $25usd.....come to think of it, that was about 1983. Another friend in the AF said hookers were dirt cheap in Guam. A decent hooker around here will run $250, at least that is what I'm told. I never saw the point of paying for it, you can find a skank in just about any bar for free. I'll stick with the 115 lb wife, hairless except whats on top of her head and full set of teeth....and disease free. Monogamy may get a little old at times, but I don't have to worry about parts falling off a few weeks down the road.

Hey Pete, have a good one, hooker that is LOL. Ok I think I used all of the damn smiles and remember, the rubber side goes down

LOL, miss this thread for a day or so and things get interesting. Thanks, but for the moment I will take that cash and invest in new carbon fiber bike bits. And I try to keep the rubber side down in all situations, bike riding included!

Without commenting on the rest of your post (when I am in Naples I do not hang around by the port, thank you very much, but mainly in the 'higher' bits of town... ) but US$ 0.50 a bottle for a Peroni is from some time ago, my friend... I do not believe that you can even buy the stuff wholesale for that kind of price.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, everything goes up from the water front in Napoli. As Darklord said, I did mention that it was 1980. I was in the US Military attached to the NATO Base in Naples. I had a lot of fun there, and met a nice little lady who worked in a bank. But when my buddies and I would do a guy's night out, we would end up down near the water front as most of us were Navy and that is where we felt most comfortable. We usually could hook up with a group of sailors on liberty from a ship in port and show them the "good" sections of town. The Gut was technically off limits to Navy personel, but that's were all the fun was happening! Consequently...........!
