That's what altiris is about. It's just one way of doing it.

Ah, in that case I understand the giggle. I find releasing one App that
I know intimately hard enough, I wouldn't want to be responsible for
every release.

Only when said to management.

It's perfectly possible to make most IT jobs easier as long as you

Sure, but the CLARiiON seems to us to offer more granularity of
control over LUN and RAID group sizing and configuration, plus EMC
owns VMware and Dell sells EMC and VMware so we can get everything
from one shop, including support.

And I'm not going to start using iSCSI or any other ethernet based
transport for VMs any time soon, the IO on our present systems is
pretty high already and I'm not convinced that an ethernet-based
fabric will handle the traffic, although messrs. EqualLogic are very
insistent that it can.

There is no one right answer.

Well, personally the only time I use vi it's really busybox.
But normally I'd emacs.
