And we know another cyclist who loves to threaten with lawsuits...

Some insight into the "rigorous" testing done at the Master's level:

Sounds like only a moron could get caught doping in Master's track.

Also, Steve threatening the lawyers:

jimmypop did you hear Steve in Atlanta's apologia re: Steve Alfred, his track cycling mate and sometime training partner.

The guy who went for testo, plus the female hormone that prompts the body's endogenous testo production after an cycle of artificial testo.

He said there was something funny about the test, besides that they sprung him for two things, which are complementary in a PED program, plus, it was his second positive.

Steve did not seem to care.

I think Aflred beat him at a national masters event. Still, Steve did not seem to care, even if seemingly his mate had beaten him at masters, who had used chemical aids.

I'm not saying Steve is doping, but there is something amiss in his thinking.

Missed the prime years of his athletic career and now he's yearning for a slice of that champion's pie.

I agree with your post, though Stephen Hill isn't the only one apologizing for Alfred's cheating.

"He's a nice guy."

interesting thread, not only the threat of libel. Most of the posters came to Alfred's defense calling him a nice guy, a 'good' guy.

earthie, "nice guy" is a euphemism in cycling. All it means is, "ofcourse he doped".

I'll put it back in :

Birds of a feather flock together, and defend each other.

Go ahead and give your lawyers a call, Steve.

I dug up the crap he posted on Alfred after the 8-year ban came down. Whiny bullshit, to say the least.

I got into trouble for calling Steve a doping apologist. The facts speak for themselves.

Just like Vaughn and the rest of the DPF schmucks, Steve professes his will for an entirely clean sport while simultaneously supporting the old ways. Those individuals just want the appearance of appropriateness and nothing more.

I'd love to see Masters-level racers tested more, particularly at the regional level. As someone pointed out to me, it's not the 20-something racer who can afford to order doping products on a regular basis, but instead it's the 40-something weekend warrior with a professional job and money to burn.

What does Steve do for a living anyway? Doesn't he work for Southwest Airlines?
