Listening to the sounds outside, it's been absolutely pissing down for most of the day here in Goulburn. I'd be very surprised indeed if Tarago didn't cop it too, given the usual trends for rainfall in this region. |

Yes, but the point is more that 1 week isn't really long enough to green everything up, and there's a lot of standing dry grass there. Have a look here: http://www.humbletown.org/unaugural2008/index.htm See how much it dried off between the February and March pictures? It's now even drier, and just as long. Unless that standing dry grass is at least damp on Saturday night, there'll be no bonfire. More pointedly, there'll be no bonfire until the "No Fires Without A Permit" sign comes down from next to the Loaded Dog. BTH |

I'm leaving just before lunch on friday, probably staying at Tintaldra if there's no snow on the hills. (If the weather looks like turning nasty like last time I'll take the van. Last time I went I was turned back on the way home by the snow at Kiandra, and had to backtrack via Cann River. It was a long, cold, dark, boring trip home.) Moike |

Won't be on the bike that's for sure, I've done so few km since July 07 that everything hurts after 100km. Could bring the pushie in the car and park at the neighbours and pedal the last km.... ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com ** |

Them be real cyclists!!! > I'm not that clever (or quick-witted either, for that matter). What you have done with the Blade is inspired. Really. I once bought a "Norman Ross" $49 10 speed (about 1976). Self-assembly, cross fingers. After a week, the chainwheel had to be welded to the crank. A few weeks later, the brakes (not just pads) needed replacing. After that, no major probs, but frequent fixes on gears, shifters, bearings, etc. Six month later I sold it to a drunk who lost his licence and wanted transport home from the pub. Since then I bought quality parts and good frames (even one custom). No further agony. But you have made a cheapy work. [I have a PhD and do strategic consulting to big, fat, greedy companies, and I DID NOT manage to get a cheapy working in my favour. Your story is a classic. Mine is one of throwing money at components. We are both happy and probably satisfied, but from different paths]. > BTH |
