One other option... I use Flickr to host photos. I'll upload a huge 1.25MB photo from my digital camera, but Flickr will automatically optimize it to around 200K, which is small enough to post to these forums. And it's free.

For your future reference OR if you feel like resampling (i.e., rescaling) any pic, you/(anyone) can use Irfanview (freeware -- www.irfanview.com).
