I don't know. At a guess, I would reckon that McQuaid would sell Verbruggen down the river if it came down to a choice between self preservation and Verbruggen/UCI. But then I don't know what has gone on between the Road Race owners (ASO etc) and UCI, to know if McQuaid is likely to break with the past (Verbruggen/UCI). MCQuaid is very astute................if the race organisers look like they'll win the war, he'll back them to the deteriment of the UCI. If the race organisers look like they won't win.......he'll continue to sing the UCI song.
