What are the consequences if ASO leaves UCI (other than the team invitation process of course)?

That is my point. The sponsors are a major stakeholder. They don't have to be running things... but having a voice at the meeting would be an improvement. A lot of the latest shenannigans have screwed sponsors. Take the sponsors out of pro cycling and you would have to have ASO, UCI and RCS etc. paying all the riders their livelihoods and how they would have teams is beyond my imagination.
