Cool thats my main target event for the year also, it will be my first tour of Bright so not sure what the feild will be like, my guess is I'll be in C grade. I've done all those climbs a few times specialy the tawonga gap (one of my fav climbs) only about an 80 min drive for me, where in Aus are you based? Brian. |

I started two weeks ago with a 10-min trainer ride, some 14 months since my accident. Just completed my first hour on the trainer tonight with an NP of 154W ![]() Before the MAP test I did what felt like 30-min of good tempo and with FTP at 185W that 30 min has an IF of 0.88, so that's about right. |

/offtopic/ ToB was a nice weekend in M1/2/3 last year. The Hotham stage was epic. Group of about 20 lasted to the toll gate then it exploded, me included! I had the ITT stage win, so I was happy to grovel to the top and watch the lightweights disappear into the clouds. Planning on hitting that race with a much higher FTP this year (but isn't that always the goal!?) ![]() |

Aiming to be at or above 300 for my 2nd main event on August 23rdAnd by the way if I make that goal (and if Tyson doesn't improve further which is unlikely) I had met my second goal ![]() |

I just started racing this season. Need 32 points to advance. I have 17 so far. (first place 8 points, second place 6 points, third 5, fourth 4, fith 3 and 6. place gets 2 points. ) W/Kg has very little meaning in Denmark due to the flat courses. |

I'm not pretty sure it works in that way since, given that power drops of 5% each time the duration doubles. 370,5 to me looks more as the 40MAP, I guess a fairly bet would be x 0,92. ...Anyway, I'm just really happy because I've just tested my 20MAP and it resulted in an astonishing (to me) 249 W per 60,4 Kg (4,12 W/Kg) ![]() ![]() My goal for the 2008 was to reach a 4,0 W/Kg, a +10% on last season value (I didn't stated it in the Goals Galore thread because I'm italian and superstitious ), so today was a great day to me.. and it comes within the week where I scored the highest TSS since I have a Powermeter (guess that tapering doesn't do for me )! I wish to thanks the members of this forum, which has proven an invaluable source of infos!... ok ok, I didn't win anything important and the numbers are not that cool, so I'll stop this endless post, but I really wanted to share my happyness with you! ![]() |

If figures are poor or great lies in the eyes of the viewer.
And if you feel they're great, then, hey there's a reason to celebrate. Speaking for me I had 2 goals for this year: 1) 4W/kg and 2) finish a C-Class race. Especially the latter might seem odd as "just" finishing isn't what most folks here seem to be after. But - maybe a speciality of Germany - the starting class for amateur racing comprises of lots of youngsters who want to become B or A as fast as they can, some veterans who only look after premes and some very quick guys which are poor sprinters. All this makes these reaces very hard to compete in especially when you: 1) are 40 years old 2) never raced before 3) have a full schedule with job, family and the like 4) started competitive cycling just as of 3 years ago. As of yesterday I have accomplished my second goal and therefore it was a great day "just" to stay with the pack. Sure felt great for me Surely next season holds higher stakes than this one - especially as I have to start as a senior 2 and not C anymore. That means competition amongst 41-50 year old (no more youngsters at least). ![]() |
