According to this article, Chicken is still training in Lake Garde, he was conctacted according to his managers by Barloworld, Caisse d Espagne, and another unmentionted team (Astana?), wich will be waiting to hear the veredict by the Monaco Federation, and TAS, wich stands for WADA I think...

With the current doping climate, I don't see how he can get a job on a team that wants to ride the TdF or even the other GTs. He would be a huge albatross around the team's neck. It would be best if he could own up to what he did, but he's too old to serve a two year ban and still come back. He's farked.

The document also states that he could probably race again on a Continental Team (one not in the tdf).

Continental is pretty far down the ladder. Maybe he can find a Pro Conti team, provided he can get off on the charges, but a good number of those have hopes of being invited to one of the GTs. Ras would be a huge risk.

He is not uncomfortable in America, so there is always Rock Racing.

The team that signs Chicken will probably be the first to not get an invite for TdF after what happened last year.

Last year, a bigger part of the riders were on less dope and they have left blood doping. Rasmussen was not one of them. Worst he fooled a lot of people by his stupid lies!

More riders have difficulties on pass... especially people with heavy body.
Of course we have seen teams with the same stellar performances as their precedent years.

Track cyclist Stephen Alfred has been handed a life-time ban from sport after refusing to submit to an out-of-competition doping test last November. The violation was Alfred’s third breach of anti-doping rules.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced the penalty on Tuesday, noting that the sanction will be enforced by USA Cycling and became effective on Monday.

According to a statement issued by USADA, the 40-year-old Alfred refused to take part in an out-of-competition doping control test on November 26, 2007. Under the provisions of the World Anti-Doping Code, non-compliance with a request for an out-of-competition test without compelling justification constitutes an anti-doping violation.

Alfred had already tested positive for norandrosterone at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He received a six-month suspension for that violation. Alfred subsequently tested positive for exogenous testosterone or its precursors and for an elevated testosterone to epitestosterone (T/E) ratio in an out-of-competition test conducted by USADA in May of 2006. He then tested positive for human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) at the 2006 at the Pan American Cycling Championships in Brazil the following month. The May 2006 and June 2006 positive tests were treated as a single doping offense according to the World Anti-Doping Code.

Following the 2006 violation, Alfred was suspended for eight years, but was still subject to provisions of the WADC and subject to unannounced testing.

Alfred, a sprinter, was a member of the team representing the U.S. at the 2005 world championships in Los Angeles and has earned several national titles in his discipline.

Alfred is the second American cyclist banned for life under provisions of the WADC. Track racer Tammy Thomas was banned for life in 2002 after her second doping violation. Thomas is currently under a federal indictment for perjury after testifying in the BALCO case in California.

Rasmussen faces two-year ban

Danish rider Michael Rasmussen, expelled from last year's Tour de France, faces a two-year ban after the International Cycling Union called for disciplinary proceedings to be brought against him.

Rasmussen was sacked by his Rabobank team while he was leading the race after it emerged he had lied about his whereabouts in training - an offence under doping regulations.

"Today the International Cycling Union has asked the Monaco Cycling Federation, with whom Michael Rasmussen held a racing licence, to open disciplinary proceedings under the UCI Anti Doping Rules," the UCI stated.

"Michael Rasmussen has publicly acknowledged what the UCI believes to be violations of its whereabouts requirements... in the period leading up to the 2007 Tour de France."

The union said that "after an extensive and careful investigation" it also believed the Danish rider broke rules relating to evading controls "in a premeditated manner and preventing controls being undertaken".

If found guilty Rasmussen - who has always denied doping - could be banned from the sport for two years.

The Danish rider admitted last November that he lied about his whereabouts in the run-up to the race, citing personal problems.

So if you cannot get a positive test, and he didn't exceed the number of missed tests, lets lynch him for any reason we can invent? Leave the guy alone, he just wants to ride his bike.
