I saw that, pretty much sums it up. Most Americans seem to have absolutely no clue how dangerously they are behaving when driving. Where I live now I regularly get pissed at people who on narrow "country" roads pass me at 50+ mph at the same time there is on-coming traffic. For fuck's sake at least slow down to give me a fighting chance if you screw up and hit me. Some of the folks around here ride nearly out in the middle of the road to prevent this. |

I like to ride quite a bit away from the road edge, so that I am clearly visible. When I hear cars I move over as they approach from behind.

Whoa. Our drivers are pretty intense here, but they are used to riders (which can be a bad thing). But our concept of 'safe riding distance' is also different. I remember riding with Americans who were terrorised when passed by cars here, and I did not even notice...

I was hit last September in Manayunk by an SUV doing 40 mph. Fortunately only the mirror hit me and that gave way on impact. She continued to drive down the road as if nothing happen and only stopped when a witness flagged her down. The driver proceeded to yell at me as if was my fault (which it wasn't). Then she took off. The police then yelled at me when I called to report the incident.

Nobody cares. It would be different if you were not obsessed with Lim and could make a valuable contribution to the forum, but you are so hung up on Lim that you are a nuisance.

I get a lot of PMs. I also have a bad habit of reading messages and telling myself to respond later, then forgetting. Sorry.
