Default What the hell do I have to do to get a KK Trainer?

HELP!!!
Please, if anyone knows a shop in the States or UK, or even Oz or Nz that is prepared to ship a basic KK trainer to Japan (surface mail) please let me know before my gym finally gets rid of the last 2 remaining trainers that go up to 350Watts. All the rest are crap, going up to only 200W or 250W. Time is running out, I'm told they will definitely be gone by next April.
The money is sitting here waiting

Tyson,

Try excel sports, http://www.excelsports.com/info.asp?page=13
They will ship to the Pacific Rim.

Their price on the base KK is $280 US, which should be a good deal given the current value of the dollar. Contact them for actual shipping rates.

Can you offer to buy the trainer from the gym?

My KK trainer was nice. You could never spin that beast out, practically unlimited resistence. Good for sprint workouts.

So the shop in Honolulu I told you about isn't willing to ship it overseas... *sigh* (although I was kind of anticipating that).

A while back when I was looking for an online bike store to buy PowerTaps, I've searched and bookmarked handful of online shops who specifically mentioned on their web sites that they would ship internationally, and one of them, JensonUSA does carry the KK Road Machine:
http://www.jensonusa.com/store/prod...id+Trainer.aspx

Note, however, that I've never purchased anything from them, so I don't know about their quality of service, etc.

Yeah, probably I should've looked into my bookmark when you first contacted me about my KK trainer... sorry and Good luck!

Ken

Thanks a lot to Working guy and Sugaken - shall follow both of those links up and let you know what happens.

I did think of that Alex, but the gym trainers are a little on the large side, and as everyone knows, we live in rabbit hutches here in Japan.

I've heard that the Elite Crono Digital ElastoGel Trainer are just as good as the KK.

I've heard and read they are not as good and what's more, they're bloody pricy.
Thanks anyway Kant for taking the trouble to reply. Tyson

I will put a vote of confidence for Excel Sports as I have recently had a great experience using their service. After a recent crash I destroyed my rear wheel and sent my hub to Excel Sport, who rebuilt a new wheel for me and shipped it to me promptly. They did a great job throughout and will be on my list of favorite online sellers from this point forward.

In addition to selling the KK trainer they also sell the Power Tap system either with a custom wheel build (you can experiment with building your own set with their online program) or pre built PT wheels.

Tyson,
I will personally deliver one to your door if you'll pay shipping (roundtrip, of course ).

I can vouch for Jenson. Their distribution center with a small store attached is located close to me as is a second retail store. They are first rate with great service and a loyal local following.

Try Planet-X. They import the trainers to the UK.

Everybody has been really helpful, especially Workingguy who PMd me offering alternatives to getting it to Japan. Thanks.

However, it was the last post by ovalmaster that got me thinking. I can get it shipped to my son in London who can then send it on via surface mail to me in Japan in an old box as a second hand unit, there by avoiding import duty.

Didn't get a reply to my email though from Planet X, so have sent another email today to customer complaints. Fingers crossed. Thanks again guys.

Tyson
