Is the Garmin Edge 705 available now?
The Garmin website says it will be out in Dec., but some online stores appear to have it. Anyone have any inside scoop on this device? I want one of these things.

Be careful to read the fine print.
I might be wrong, but I think some of the sites you refer to are taking orders in advance. At least I have seen that to be the case on one particular web page. On Tigergps.com it states "Pre-Order" as I am sure many are doing. |

this is true. the edge 605 and 705 are not being released until middle febuary. there was a mistake with the relase date so they pushed it back. at first, it was to come out in late december.but now in febuary

Any other news on which power meters the 705 will work with?
The last time I looked at the official Garmin site a list was not available. I know there has been a lot of speculation on the ANT compatability of certain units. The one thing I can say is then when I had my power test done on the PT300 pro bike that uses the Cycleops computer similar to the Powertap unit the individual had me use my Garmin heart strap and entered that code into the Powertap computer for that stationary bike. So that part seemed compatible.

It should be coming out real soon. bestbuy has it on thier website and so do some other electronic stores. Keep your eyes open.

i would order from internet. but a great local store has a great warenty that is cheap and will help with any problems that i have, so im getting it from them. there is hope because more and more cycling sites are selling them in computers catergories.
