Cowboys and Indians...yeah right...

Today you're supposed to play games like Cooperation Station...(I just made that up, but there probably is one called that). Meanwhile, the kids in my class were gluing seashells on a collage and two of them formed theirs into a gun shape... Luckily, they were not reported or suspended... Welcome to 2008...
Wow okay... things have changed... I guess they all have there hand held games and playing cards etc. now. Do you see much of that???

Well, of course we HAD that game... I mean this is where cowboys and Indians come from... But it's politically incorrect. First of all, they are Native Americans, not Indians...and it just doesn't have the same ring to it. I mean who wants to play cowboys and Native Americans. Besides, now you'd have to play it so that the cowboys were all tried as hate criminals. B-o-r-i-n-g.

There's always cops and robbers...but they are allegedly robbers...and they are persecuted by our system...and the cops are using brutality. So I guess they could change that one also to a game of trying the cops for police brutality.

Basically, the new version should just be Lawyers and Victims...

About three feet away... The other problem is you can't let your kids play outside unsupervised...and seriously, the only fun a kid can really have playing is unsupervised.

I was being a bit sarcastic about the group games...it's not always that bad around here...but there are parts of this country that have tried to outlaw tag...because someone is "it." And of course dodgeball is harmful to self esteem as well...they can still play dodgeball where my kids go to school. But it's beyond ridiculous how everything is over analyzed and politicized.

Do you try restrict how many computer games your kids play?? Is it just easier to sit them down in front of the box, which keeps them entertained.

Yeah, they are fairly restricted about that..they would tell you I am the MEANEST mom in the world...to which I tell them that I am in a meanest moms contest, and every time they say that, I'm winning!!! Gee, I am a mean mom...

If anything I think I've gone a little overboard with some of it...they could probably have more than they do. But I'd prefer they stay active. They play a lot of sports and ride motorcycles on the weekends when possible. Now that the weather is improving we'll be riding bikes more.
