I test rode one at Americade a few years back. Awesome bike, handled like a dream. The Tuono (sp) is even nicer. I'm getting a Triumph Speed Triple in the spring. |

So, the bike is just broken in! You can take it over 3000 rpm's now. My friend had one only in burgandy. I ran into a guy back when I use to ride who had a 1985 with 214,000 miles on it. He said there was no major work done to it yet. We should have alienator push one of those backward while seated sometime. I think he might change his mind about reverse. |

Actually, you'd be surprised. Less than a grand a year for full comp insurance. Now, iffin' I were 18....or livin' in LA, that'd be a different story. I do get a 15% discount for bein' a certified perv. |

The Tuono is nice, just an RSV Mille with higher bars and minus some bodywork. Alas, only a few naked bikes really make me feel randy....and one of those is a Speed Triple. Nice choice! The sound of a triple winding out is music to me ears....almost as nice as a twin. |

No thank you. I just don't fit in with that sort of bike. The closest I've come was when my father-in-law asked me to ride his Harley Custom Classic a couple times because he swore there was a wobble in it, and it scared him. I found no wobble....and I tried....but I did find that I was bored to tears on that Harley. There used to be a guy that roadraced a Goldwing--can't remember if it was a GL1000 or GL1100--of a mid to late 70's vintage at Nelson Ledges race track in Ohio. That Wing, however, was a completely different animule than today's Wings. |

I wanted to go with a twin for I love the torque they have. I hate having to downshift to accelerate. The triple is somewhere in between an inline and a twin. It also has a sound of its own. I like the looks of the trip and the price is in my range. If they would only offer it in British Racing Green. I know what your talking about not fitting into the touring bike style. I've tried them all, even the st1100 and fjr. They are'nt the same in the twisties. Last edited by dbackmtg : 09-09.-2007 at 10:24 PM. |

I've always had 6 or 7 really nice bikes around just because I like them. I used to be a car guy, but bikes are really nicer, less expensive and take up lots less room. It's also nice to have extra bikes around for visitors to ride.
I do like bikes out of the norm. No Treks in my garage. My current favorite ride is a Softride Powerwing. I've been riding the same mototcycle for 15 years now. It is a Honda Transalp and I think it is about the best bike ever made. Where are you at in west central illinois? I live in east central Iowa. We must be close.

Little town called Cuba. About 35 miles west of Peoria. Where in Iowa? I've ridden RAGBRAI 7 times, so chances are I have been close to your town.

I'm from Bettendorf, one of the Quad Cities.I sometimes ride to New Boston, Illinois. That is about as far south as I ever get.
