Here is a clip of one of my prize pupils breaking a local record held by a pro after only 3 years on the bike and at 34 years of age.
This man is 100% CLEAN too! Domestic pro watts per kilo for 5 minute max power here. Check out the average power at the end of the clip! ....and he was a bit fatigued from a short race the previous day as he mentioned, and as evidenced by a suppressed heart rate for him at VO2 max. Sorry I am swamped and cannot take any new clients. ![]() Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ho4xGqYs3o ![]() Last edited by TiMan : 10-06.-2007 at 03:01 PM. |

I had trouble hearing the commentary over something that sounded like German death metal blasting away. Would like to have heard a bit more of what was said.

Yeah, nice evil music. "Du hasst mich" = You hate me...Nice. Makes the clip enjoyable... ![]()

Actually, du haust has a dual meaning .....it can mean you hate or you have.....in the context of the song the other "words" make the meaning YOU HAVE..YOU HAVE ASKED ME. ![]() Maybe it was a bit loud though ![]() |

I think I heard that this guy was very heavy once, but you recognized he was VERY talented. Be careful on stressing that point. Even quite an average coach can make such a talent truly shining Better provide an example of making a champion out of "average joe" ![]() |

hmmm - even if he was "very heavy" the commentary says he was a former olympic swmmer - that in itself obviously takes some serious talent and a whopping huge cardio system, so perhaps he may have at one time been considered heavy for an elite hill climbing cyclist, but I would think it to be rather unlikely that the man was ever over weight as "very heavy" suggests. And TiMan does mention right at the beginning of the video the fact that the fellow was an olympic swimmer so it seems obvious to me that he's being straight up about the fellows merits. (hey - OT, but did you ever get to drop down this way for a race? - there's a stage race coming up in August the Nooksak area, so its a little closer to BC - and its an Omnium so you can race just the RR if you want to. One caveat - I think this is the first event of its size the club has organized so they may be a little less than all together) |

Of course he was humble stressing the point that HE recognized true talent in this guy ;-) Don't take my post too seriously though... |

Very impressive, about 10 kilos lighter than me, and 60 or 70 watts faster.
