Ratio. Could I have an example of your daily diet. Please let me reassure you it's not stir the pot, or to reem you with. Im just very curious. I myself struggle with food choices everyday.

Well, that is how humans tend to behave, just ask any half decent psychologist. So the minority, me in this case, are immediately, and without just cause, attacked and demonized as an automatic response. I find it rather irritating that the multitude act in such a way. Baaa. Baaa. I wonder if what I just wrote will prompt an ego response in you? Maybe you will be prompted to reply with an ill judged post attacking me because you have been primordially preprogrammed to assert that yours is the larger penis? For all the good it will do, I recommend rising above such innate programming. I advocate intellectual analysis over automatic control via cerebro-chemistry. I generally follow the recommendations of this site http://www.ais.org.au/nutrition/HotTopics.asp Ratio, Out of curiousity, what is your daily diet like? The links are interesting but didn't really answer the initial question.

If you want a list of their misdeeds then get on Google; they are not hard to find. Do yourself a favour: Anything connected with government or with big business, concerning health advice specifically, should be avoided. The corporate world would gladly kill you for a $1 profit, and the government does not exactly have a marvelous record in this area either. They do not care for you or for your well-being. Good points. I agree that wholehearted trust in one's government is plain stupid, BUT here's why I'm still going with (well not all of course..) the info on that page. Where in their information is there any mention of Nestle products?
The majority of your links quote scientific journals and research papers etc, this link does exactly the same. So my sources and your sources are both backed by research, yet somehow only your information is correct? I'm going with the AIS to race/train in Italy for a month (amateur junior races), now tell me, why would they (coaches, dieticiens, administrators) direct me towards nutritional advice that is not correct and only propaganda when the performance of myself and other's in this squad determine the amount of funding they recieve?

Sports nutrition is different to health and optimum nutrition. Only yesterday I DL’d a book by a famous bodybuilder. This book was obviously some years old.
From reading just a small part of the book I decided to see if this bodybuilder was still alive. Nope. The guy is gone! He died about 6-years ago in his early 50’s. Not exactly a ripe old age. Heart disease is what got him. I then looked at other bodybuilders from decades past. Serious health problems feature in most of them. Those still alive, that is! I know this is not bodybuilding, but there are many similarities and parallels. On the topic of scientific studies: The book, Plant Based Health and Nutrition, that I recommend is written by a PhD who specializes in the analysis of such studies, regardless of the subject of the studies. It takes such an expert to decipher the truth from distortion, lies, and reports commissioned to be misleading. Not all scientific studies are alike. Yes, this is a very frustrating world in which we are immured. The leaders, be they political, religious, or corporate, do not give a damn about anyone. All they care about is satiating their insatiable lust for power, blood, and money. Choose whose advice to follow with extreme caution. After looking at many aspects of how certain groups behave, the decisions they have made and what they support and preach, one’s sense of discernment becomes attuned to being able to recognize good information. It becomes able to dismiss bad information for the garbage that it is. There is more to this issue than mere scientific reports, but they certainly help. On Nestle: Guilt by association is a good failsafe strategy when dealing wih those criminals. Any genuine and worthy group that advocates certain nutritional advice would never associate themselves with such a despicable company such as Nestle. Would you get a loan from a bank sponsored by the Chicago Outfit? |

But it does remind me of the irony in Mcdonalds sponsoring various junior sport competitions in Australia, and even worse, and you'll love this, there's a McDonalds in the Royal Childrens Hospital! (Melbourne Aus..)Anyway, I think the important point that hadn't been made yet was the difference between sport nutrition and health nutrition...
