That's a negative. To tell the truth, at 107kg, I'm a bit scared I'll actually break it. It's a Columbus UIltrafoco compact, with about a foot of carbon post hanging out.....so I'm thinking sub-100kgs only.

Swimming, walking and dietary restraint at this stage.

Plus the weather is a bit too Belgian at the moment.

Is that enough excuses??

Sitrep BF - there is a poll in Road Cycling started by Expat about returning TAT to the RC subforum. TAT is currently in FOO and available for posting, there has been some friendly banter with a braindead individual from the MTB forum but other than that, all is quiet on the Western Front.

Reckon this is a better location, more Aussies to interact with over here.

Would I have to be nuts to want to do an unsupported ride from Darwin to Adelaide through the middle?

I can put you in touch with someone who did that trip unsupported in the other direction if you want. But yes, it's nuts!

I reckon Expat would be better off writing an epitaph and closing the thread. What would be really nice would be a "best of" TAT thread.

There were some classic moments, like the time Hitchy rolled in late on January 2 and solemnly declared "ooohhhh my head!.......I found out WAY to late that the contents of a 15 "C**k sucking cowboy" shooter thingies do not go well with a slab of crownies & 1/2 bottle of Johnnie walker!...who knew?....think I'll go back to bed!"

Or when Koffee split the thread for the first time: "The Aussie thread is a little out of control... It's a little difficult to wade through posts when someone does something like report a spammer.... we don't know where the heck to look in the thread! " Personally I thought the whole thread resembled a tin of spam: plenty of meat 'n' jelly but absolutley zero substance.
