Riding in the Himalayas would be absolutely awesome. Hell, walking through there would be fantastic. Dunno about the organisation, but non-stop curries would kill me.

What?!? No vilification? No cheap and frankly gratuitous parting shots? No rubbing salt in the wound? It's not as though I'm being selfish: I made sure to bring enough for everybody! You want some bile with that?

I think the Himalayas are magnificent, but I would prefer to admire them from afar. What altitude is this event taking place at? For all you sea-level types, it could prove quite challenging physically if you were tempted to try it.

Years ago I travelled from New York to Colorado Springs by car. I was hoping that the drive would start me acclimating to the altitude instead of just hopping off the plane. No love there: one of my lungs is still nailed to a mile marker on Pike's Peak. I can't imagine what four times the altitude would be like. Although a 58mph average speed going back down was quite fun (fun= f*cking terrifying). I had my friend drive me up for the second run down, hee hee!

Tallest pass is only 3223 metres! Piss easy!
![]() A week hanging out in Shimla should get the hemoglobin or whatever up. Failing that, anyone got Landis' doctors number? ![]() I went to just shy of 4000 meters when I visited Nepal. Oh yeah, that's some headache you get up there. Oh boy. |
